At Heolddu Gymnastics we operate a number of sessions for members of all ages, gender and ability in a Fun and Friendly Environment starting from age 4.
We also operate a number of competitive squads, which are more skills focused. Entry into squad is by invitation only.
Recreational Gymnastics is a great way to enjoy Gymnastics. Gymnasts enjoy the benefits of Gymnastics in a fun and friendly environment at their own pace.
Recreational Gymnastics is great for Physical Literacy, covering aspects such as Strength, Flexibility, Coordination, Fitness in addition to Self Confidence.
Our recreational sessions have a defined pathways that are designed to give gymnasts clear goals and and rewards for achieving them.
Girls Recreational Gymnastics is a fun way for girls to experience Gymnastics. Gymnasts will cover skills across the Women's Artistic Gymnastics apparatus
Boys Recreational Gymnastics is a fun way for Boys to experience Gymnastics. Gymnasts will cover skills across the Men's Artistic Gymnastics Apparatus
Younger members start from age 4. Their sessions are a gentle, fun introduction to gymnastics and the basic schedule and routine of normal recreational sessions.
Our Girls Squad work over the main apparatus outlined by Women's Artistic Gymnastics:
- Beam, Asymmetric Bars, Floor & Vault.
Our Boys Squad work over the main apparatus outlined by Men's Artistic Gymnastics:
- High Bar, Vault, Floor & Rings

Our sessions always start with a fun game to get our gymnasts up and active. Its a great way to get to know the other gymnasts in the group and say good bye to any nerves or shyness.
After the Warmup Game its a gentle mobility stretch to set up our gymnasts for their time on the apparatus in the gym.
Next its skills time where your gymnast will work on a number of different apparatus in the gym. Typically this will be around 3 different pieces of apparatus. Gymnasts will spend around 10 - 20 minutes on a piece of apparatus depending on the gymnasts in the group.
At the end of the session its a fun cool down.
