All parents/carers/guardians are members of Heolddu Gymnastics Club through their child and are expected to read and follow this Code of Conduct.
Parents must ensure that their child is a fully paid up member of Heolddu Gymnastics Club and British Gymnastics.
All fees must be paid online within 3 weeks of receipt of notification via the Online Membership System. Email reminders will be sent out to help with this, but failure to comply could result in the loss of your child's place within the club.
Parents must ensure that their child arrives 5 minutes before the class starts and must collect their child from the hall once the session has completed.
Parents must stay within Heolddu Leisure Centre for the duration of the session in-line with Caerphilly Council Policy for under 8’s.
Parents must ensure that their child is wearing suitable clothing for doing gymnastics as outlined previously.
Please make sure your child always brings a drink, either water or squash. No Fizzy drinks are allowed.
Parents must ensure that membership fees, training and competitions fees are paid on time
Parents must not enter the gym during sessions unless invited by the Lead coach or a club official. Siblings are not allowed on the equipment at any time.
Parents must make sure that their child understands the Gymnast’s Code of Conduct. We are inclusive club, and all members are treated equally, fairly and with respect. Please encourage your child to do the same.
Parents must encourage their child to follow the rules, to be polite and respective to the gymnastics coaches and club officials. Bad language is not tolerated. Do not let your child be unpleasant or argue with a gymnast, coach or club official.
Please show appreciation to coaches, volunteers, and club officials for the work they do.
Please help your child to recognise good performance, not just a good result, and to learn good sportsmanship. Teach them to congratulate and encourage all gymnasts.
Please be positive and encouraging even if you child makes a mistake. Help them to enjoy their gymnastics and never force them to take part in sport.
Parents must keep the club informed if your child is ill or unable to attend. Keep children who are ill or contagious at home for 48 Hrs after they have fully recovered.
Please be open at all times and share any concerns or complaints about any aspect of the club with the Welfare offices or a club official.
Parents must not use social media in any way which would cause upset or distress to any individual at Heolddu Gymnastics or to the club itself.
Parents must not take photos of gymnasts within the gym without the express permission of Heolddu Gymnastics.
It is the leisure centres policy that any child under the age of 8 that the parent remains on the grounds of the leisure centre.
If your child has a medical condition this should be documented on both our registration form and the British Gymnastics membership application form.
If your child requires the toilet during the gymnastics session – parents are required to accompany their child.
